Volkswagen Amarok electric version arrives by 2025

Volkswagen Amarok electric version arrives by 2025

Volkswagen will produce an EV pickup truck instead of a short-range hybrid.

Work continues on the electric version of the upcoming second generation Volkswagen Amarok.
The German automaker collaborated with Ford for a zero-emission pickup truck, as a smaller and potentially more efficient alternative to the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T.

The partnership is an extension of the Global Alliance, where Volkswagen and Ford develop the than conventional gasoline and diesel versions of the second generation Amarok and  4 generation  Ford Ranger side-by-side in a program at Ford Australia headquarters.

The move to start engineering the electric version of the new Amarok came after Volkswagen decided not to offer the next second generation Amarok with the petrol-electric plug-in hybrid drivetrain to be offered to the new-looking Ford Ranger.
Production of the electric Amarok has yet to be officially confirmed, but it is a fact that the company's Commercial Vehicles division has been integrated into the EV pickup truck program.

He has also designed an electric version of the new Volkswagen Multivan in partnership with Abt.
